Regional Workshop on National Qualification Framework of Bangladesh
Speakers at a program at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology on 16th September 2018 highlighted the need for conducting inclusive researches on various fields of knowledge to ensure the quality of the higher educational institutions in the country.
They highlighted this while they were addressing the inaugural session of a day-long regional workshop on ‘National Qualifications Framework of Bangladesh’ held at the mini auditorium on SUST campus in the morning. The university Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest that was organized by the Quality Assurance Unit of the University Grant Commission.
SUST unit of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell director Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Biswas presided over the programme that was addressed, among others, by Comilla University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Emran Kabir Chowdhury, SUST treasurer Professor Dr Md Elias Uddin Biswas, Leading University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Kamruzzaman Khan, Metropolitan University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Shiba Prasad Sen, Sylhet divisional commissioner Misbah Uddin Chowdhury and IQAC additional director Professor Dr Md Ashraful Alam.
Professor Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary, head in the Quality Assurance Unit of UGC, attended the program as the key resource person.
As a chief guest Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed said, at the present time SUST has a prestigious position on research and innovation across the country. We are trying to improve our educational qualifications among our students as well as teachers.
There has indiscipline among the curriculum and syllabus amid whole Universities in our country. We should overcome this indiscipline and establish the same policies for all universities in Bangladesh, he added.
