Seminar on Higher Education & Beyond for Germany
A seminar on ‘ Higher Education & Beyond for Germany’ held at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on November 28, 2019. German Ambassador to Bangladesh H. E. Mr. Peter Fahrenholtz was the special guest while IQAC director Professor Dr Md Ashraful Alam presided over the function at university’s mini auditorium. Professor Dr Muhammad A. Toimoor, Director, IML, SUST was the coordinator of that seminar.
Rumana Kabir, Bangladesh representative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Tamara Kabir, Culture and Education Officer at the German Embassy in Bangladesh presented various strategies on higher education in Germany at the event.
The German ambassador to Bangladesh, Peter Fahrenholtz said, ‘The German government is working to provide more education opportunities for Bangladeshi students and researchers. Currently, the trend of moving from Bangladesh to Germany has increased by 30 percent. In This year, more than a thousand students from Bangladesh have gone to Germany for higher education.’ Before the seminar, he meets with the vice chancellor of SUST Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed and they exchange views on issues of mutual interest, including education and research.
Vice Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed thanked German Ambassador H. E. Mr. Peter Fahrenholtz for coming to campus. He says, ‘The quality of education in Germany is pretty good. So many students from Bangladesh go to Germany every year and they are returning home and playing a role for developing our country.’
