Workshop on OBE Curriculum Concepts- Models & Development Strategy

Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed has said that the syllabus of every department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology will be prepared following the world-class education system from next academic year. He was speaking as the chief guest at a workshop on OBE Curriculum Concepts-Models and Development Strategy organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university on January 20, 2021.

At the workshop, Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed said, “We are working to prepare the syllabus for the students of the coming academic year in line with various educational institutions of the world.” The syllabus of each department of the university is updated every year to bring dynamism in education and research.

The Vice-Chancellor further said, ‘Now-a-days SUST is one of the role models in Bangladesh for good governance, education and research. Following this, we have become the best in the country in the category of University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh in terms of research publications. In this, the skill and quality education system of the teachers and students of the university carries its identity. Hopefully, this trend of development will continue in the future.’

“Effective plans have been taken by the administration to build quality education and research and quality infrastructure,” the vice-chancellor said. In continuation of this, the allocation in the research sector has been increased almost seven times. The library has been created as the latest digital e-library. Latest Turnitin software has even been introduced to maintain the quality of research. ”The vice-chancellor also said that huge changes have started in the university in terms of infrastructure.

IQAC Director Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam chaired this workshop. Periodically the teachers of each department who have worked on the curriculum of the department participate in the workshop.
