Workshop on Teaching Evaluation (TE) and Table of Specification (TOS)

A two-day-long workshop on “Teaching Evaluation (TE) and Table of Specification (TOS)” was organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed was present as the chief guest.

Speaking as the chief guest at the workshop held on June 07 and 08, 2021, Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed remarked, “Our students are doing much better than other universities. He noted that there is no alternative to development in education and research to continue the ongoing success towards the goal of taking this university to an international standard. At present, our budget in the research sector is about six crores, which is more than many other older and contemporary public universities in Bangladesh.” Professor Uddin further remarked that “we are the first public university to use Turnitin to standardize research. And to improve the quality of education, it is necessary to recruit good teachers and provide adequate training to the teachers. We are working together to improve the quality of education in SUST. In addition to hiring the best teachers, an adequate budget has been set aside for teacher training. In this case, IQAC, SUST, plays a unique role in providing various training to teachers to meet the end goal of quality education at SUST.”

He further said, “SUST has a reputation in the country and abroad for education, research, transparency, accountability, and good governance. However, we need to make further progress in science and technology to keep pace with the present times.”

Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Treasurer, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, was present as the Special Guest, whereas SUST IQAC Director, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam is in the presidency.

Additional Director of IQAC Mr. Md. Ishrat Ibn Ismail coordinated the program. The workshop was conducted in compliance with the hygiene rules. Invited teachers, including Syndicate members of the university, Dean of all faculties, Head of all departments, President and General Secretary of SUTA, participated in the workshop.
